Revenue, spend, and growth are on every dashboard. But the number that says whether any of it actually made money lives in a spreadsheet one person updates, and nobody fully trusts the formulas.
The reason is the real costs never get loaded. The cost to make and deliver each sale, the fees, the refunds, the discounts, all sit in different systems, so margin is an estimate and CAC is a blended guess. The true cost of winning a customer never reaches the number you decide on.
So the question that actually runs the business, which customers and channels actually make money, is the one your numbers can't answer.
